Donald Sauter “Dr. Don” was born in Wheaton, Missouri. He was blessed to have a very religious family who made him go to church 3 times a week. This was a pattern that God had planned for him.
He graduated from High School early and went right on to college. His parents wanted him to go a Christian University; they chose Harding University where he was required to take Bible every day. He was expected to attend Chapel every day. He auditioned and was selected to be in the A cappella Traveling Chorus. There he was required to memorize a lot of great music. He did not know until later that God was teaching him scripture in the music. God was preparing him to be a minister.
He graduated and became a music teacher in the public schools. He continued his musical training, receiving a MA from Cal State, Long Beach. Being driven, God led him on his mission to get his doctorate from the University of Southern California, which prepared him to be a Superintendent of Schools. In his doctoral work he developed a Goals and Objectives system. He adapted that system to churches. God had a plan that Don did not want to accept. God had prepared him to be a Pastor, caring for people just like he had cared for students in schools. After 34 years in public education, he retired and accepted his first ministry with Santee Christian Church. That was in 1998. He has followed God’s plan ever since. “Dr. Don” loves serving the Lord. Even though he has now retired, he is still serving God as Pastor Emeritus for East County Christian Fellowship. He loves the motto,
“God loves you and so do I”!!
